I own the
Adobe Master Collection CS5.5 which includes a bunch of software, I mostly use Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Illustrator, but Flash and InDesign are also in my tool-belt for logo, webdesign, or cover art. Adobe is not the cheapest software for design but it is pretty much the standard especially if you are planning on submitting logos or websites to
DesignCrowd for instance, or join
Do More with Less on oDesk
one of the sites I work for, you will need at least
Adobe Illustrator CS6
to create vector logos.
